The best events in CDMX this month

Mexico City, the cosmopolitan and cultural heart of Mexico. With all it has to offer, has become a tourist destination and a wandering paradise for locals and visitors. Cultural, gastronomic and entertainment events abound, this city hosts some of the most artistic and entertaining events in the country. 1- Starting off the list is the Latin American film festival; Cinema Ciudad de México. This festival takes place in public theaters and cultural centers around the city and aims to promote the art of cinema and its creators. Also, if you are a movie aficionado, make sure to take advantage of the conferences and workshops offered by the festivalup until October 13.  

2- For design and art lovers, Design Week Mexico showcases different fairs, exhibitions and forums for the creative community and enthusiasts. Revolving around culture, art and design, this fair is dedicated to the promotion and connection of emerging designers and artists so they can exhibit their work.A collaboration platform that also aims to encourage social, cultural and economic development.


3- The eccentric Alebrijes are back in their annual folklore art parade. Handcrafted and created from scratch, Alebrijes are chimera-like creatures built from the imagination of Pedro Linares. You will be fascinated by the bright colors, rhythmic movement and over-sized critters as they take Paseo de la Reforma as their runway. If you happen to miss the parade, the creations will be exhibited throughout October up until November 17 of this year.

4-For foodies and cultural enthusiasts, we will have the 7th Sabores y Artesanías del Mundo festival bringing together cultures, traditions and food from around the world. Get to know countries through their customs and cultural flavors with this festival starting on October 11thand ending on the 13thCountries from Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia will take part in the celebration. Explore different countries without leaving CDMX, you will find food, artifacts, home accents, cosmetics, handcrafted gifts, and much more. 

5- At the end of this month, the highly anticipated Mega Procesión de Catrinas; a contemporary fanfare parade in honor and celebration of day of the dead. This day is similar to Halloween but has its own identity and meaning. This festivity will take place on October 26 starting at the Angel of independence monument. So, join the Catrinas in this special homage to our iconic calavera in our culture and walk through the city until you reach the Zocalo
